Our Purpose and Community Focus

#WeRideWhy embodies the freedom cycling offers – a reprieve from daily life’s stressors and obligations. Cycling is our escape, our sanctuary, and our connection to something bigger. We ride not just for physical health but to heal and make a difference. Our passion drives us to share our love for cycling with the world, highlighting businesses, brands, and the cycling community.

#WeRideWhy? is more than just a question – it’s a conversation, a connection, a shared purpose. It’s about understanding why each of us matters, why our stories intersect, and why we come together to support those affected by cancer. The story starts with individual lives negatively impacted by cancer, which are part of a larger community united against this disease.

The Heart of the Film

#WeRideWhy is a love letter to those we’ve loved and lost, as well as those who continue to endure. It’s a story that transcends cycling – it’s a story about family, community, connection, and love. The bike becomes a powerful metaphor, symbolizing unity, inclusion, health, resilience, and overcoming challenges.

At its core, the film explores the why behind our actions. Why do we ride? Why do we fight? Why do we come together? The answer is simple: love. Love for our families, friends, communities, music, and life itself. This deep-seated love is what makes the film impactful and resonant.

The Storyteller and The Stories

Greg Roth, while a central character, serves as the storyteller rather than the sole focus. His narrative sets the stage for the broader community stories about his loved ones affected by cancer, including Judy, Ashley, Jenny, and his mom. It also highlights the philanthropic work of the cycling community in Seattle, Washington; specifically Fred Hutch and their Obliteride race. The film magnifies individual experiences within a larger context, allowing the audience to relate and connect through testimonials and community moments.

The film also underscores the importance of community, regardless of differences. Cancer does not discriminate based on age, appearance, wealth, or background. It’s a universal struggle that unites us all. The goal is to move and inspire the audience to take action, fostering positive change in their lives and communities

The Revolution Within

The revolution #WeRideWhy aims to spark the love, compassion, and the desire to make a meaningful impact in all of us. Through cycling, music, and shared stories, we hope to leave a lasting impression, empowering individuals to join the fight against cancer and embrace the power of community.
